What does 26 have to do with India?

26 January 1950:
This relationship dates back to the year 1950.We had our constitution drafted by the Constitution assembly on this day. Thanks to Dr.Ambedkar and Co.This day goes down in
history as one of the most important and proudest days that our country ever had..and hence given a status of a national holiday(one among the three that we have). In short..Great day Great Moment!!!

26 December 2004:
With epicentre near the west coast of Sumatra, this particular earthquake was called the Great Sumatra -andaman Earthquake. What's more important is, it gave rise to one of the biggest natural catastrophe ever-'THE BOXING DAY TSUNAMI'.With the quake lasting more than eight minutes and the waves rising more than 25 meters, it was not only the common man who was taken by surprise, but it left the entire scientific community bewildered. They had never seen anything like this in the recent past. This day saw the death of more than 225,000 people across eleven different countries.Astoundingly, the waves travelled more than 8500 km.That's more than enough for a day !!!

26 July 2005:
This was the day when Mumbai broke records. It recorded eighth heaviest ever recorded 24-hour rainfall figure of 994 mm.It consumed more than 1000 lives. This was the day when Mother Nature showed its ugly side and brought one of the most bustling city on earth to a standstill. This was the day when the Indian government realised that even

Mumbai (which was considered to have the best drainage system among the metros in the country), cannot withstand a single day's rain.If this was the case with Mumbai, I dare not talk about Chennai in a similar situation.

26 November 2008:
So far we have seen what nature had done to us on the 26ths.But on this day, there was a new catastrophe and this time it was not a natural one. This was the day when TERRORISM obtained a new dimension. It was not the 'usual day' of suicide bombing or hijacking(THE Al-Qaida style). This time the events were more cinematic. It was more of random firing, Oriented towards outsiders, destroying buildings with rich heritage, taking on the jews and a whole bunch of unusual but well planned motives. This was the day when we realised that ,even 10 people (with hopeless ideologies) could bring one of the best cities in the world to a standstill. This was the day when we realized UNITY was the need of the hour.

With 26 'offering' so many things to India and her people, many of which have been bitter, it is time to ponder as to whether it is really the number 26 which is causing these problems or there are reasons beyond. I believe in the later. If anyone of you believe in the former, then it is time to erase 26 of your calenders and start leading lives with 353 days in a year.

PS: Thank god ...I was born on the 27th, else many of them would have missed my birthday.

What is HE to India?

HE carries a picture of Lord Hanuman with him.He has portrait of Mahatma Gandhi hanging in his Senate office.Do these mean that his winning becomes a boon for India? The answer is MAY BE or MAY NOT BE(I know that the probability of this statement is one).Lets look at his stand so far:

About INDIA in general:
Facts:He realizes that India has the potential to become a superpower in the forthcoming years(even I know this!!!).He Knows that India is the largest democracy and it is important to have good relationship with us.Personally, he relates himself to India and Indians very well. He understands how difficult it is for Indians to come to US and begin a new life over there(as students or as professionals), because his father did the same thing(he came there with a student VISA) when he came from Kenya 45 years ago.
My Inferences and Judgments: I personally believe that he respects our culture. He understands the nitigrities of running a large democracy like ours and he respects the decisions we take.

About PAKISTAN:
Facts: Throughout his campaign , he has been more or less tough on Pakistan for not being able to counter terrorism in the best possible manner. He has been critical on Pervez's inablity to curb terrorism inspite of borrowing large funds from the US to address this issue. He believes that this money has been used for addressing other issues, especially ,the border issue with India. Infact he said, "If Pakistan fails to act on terrorism , we will....with or without Pakistan's consent."
My inferences and Judgements:He sounds great. Looks like a President who wants to know the reality and act accordingly. Its been quite sometime we had somebody like CLINTON and hopefully we have one now...

About N-deal:
Facts:He was initially one of the fellows who supported the 'killer amendment'(Killer amendment is an amendment made to a bill in order to make its passage difficult in the assembly. It is usually done by the opposition). But later on once the 'killer amendment' was rejected , he did not have any major say.So far,So good.
My inferences and Judgments:We need to wait and watch as to how the whole thing goes about once we are done with our elections next year. So far, the nuclear deal has been able to shake up,in fact break up coalitions and hopefully we will arrive at decision next year ( again, this is possible only if one of the parties has a clear majority..no more coalitions).

About Outsourcing:
Facts:He has been bold enough to say that he will give tax breaks for the companies that promote in-house jobs. He seriously considers giving a second thought to the companies that have been outsourcing the jobs to India and China, because today ,these companies enjoy a tax benefit on the revenue generated from the outsourced jobs.
My inferences and Judgments: The situation doesn't look great for the Indian IT industry especially the BPO's.But with the current level of interdependency and globalism, am not sure about how the whole process could be reversed.Anyways!!! it's not my job,it's HIS.

I have put down whatever I know and whatever I feel about his winning.Come January, you will know what HE actually is!!!!
Dear Readers, presenting before you the "HE"ro of your story...the first African-American president and sixth youngest ever to take on the reins of the oldest democracy in the world..Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

PS:I have used the word "HE" 43 times and OBAMA only once. What does this say?..I included this because I felt my tone in the passage should be "GUARDED OPTIMISM".

A new language...

LOL....yeah the title is true..this language(if I can call it one!!!) can be temporarily called as the CHATTERS' language. There is no particular origin for this language. It has inherited from every other language under the sun.Born somewhere, this language (if my estimations are correct) could easily be the most used language as of today.Pity U Mandarin(you held the record for so many years)!!!

Now,lets examine the reasons for the popularity of this language.
Firstly, it could be that it doesnot have any grammer. It doesnot have anything on the lines of nouns, pronouns, articles, etc as in english or as a matter of fact any other language. So, obviously YAAR...it is very easy to learn and use.

Secondly, with the burst of internet and chatting machines..I mean the computers(mobiles and PDA's included in the list from 2007), the number of people who are taking to this language is mindboggling.I heard that ,the rate at which this is happening is much more than the rate at which our sensitivity index is falling down(the fastest that I could think of right now)...

Thirdly, it could be because of the rise in underemployment over the years. This has directly reflected in the amount of free time an employee has( the reason why I have started blogging)and I guess he doesnot know what to do in that free time. He forgets that he has been paid for working eight hours a day and starts using his resources for other purposes..which he is not supposed to do (according to the ethical standards of the organisation for which he is working).

As of now, my list of reasons has exhausted and there is nothing much I could do except to hail the CHATTERS--hence called the "developers" of this language.
So, all the CHATTERS, TU and MTFBWY for your future endeavours.

PS: This blog was written at 6:20pm ,after the official work timings of my organisation.
